This is one of those cases that cause sleepless nights to
women. It is an extreme case. It is gross. And it makes anyone with ovarian
cysts wonder if they may be next. A cyst that doubles your weight? Now that is
terrifyingly extreme!
But it happened in Mexico. A woman noticed that her weight
has almost doubled. She thought that this was all because of old age or maybe
because of having a poor diet. Therefore, for 5 years, Mrs. Talamante blamed
her worsening appearance on her age – she is 51 (But never did it cross her mind that all her troubles were due to a large cyst in her ovaries).
Her daughter was however not convinced. She kept pestering
her mother to pay a visit the doctor, especially when she noticed that her
mother’s situation was getting worse. And it was.
The ovarian cyst tumor in her ovaries grew to such an extent
that for the past 24 months, Mrs. Talamante could barely move.
It was only until July this year that the Mexican woman decided
to pay a visit to the doctor. By then, her weight had increased from 143lbs to
275 lbs. A four-hour operation later revealed that the cause of her rapid
increase in weight was a 132 lb growth in her ovaries. The tumor was
successfully removed by doctors without any serious complications.
